Athena


Athena is the Goddess of War, Strategy, Crafts, and Civilization. She rules the Solar Plexus Chakra and manages the mental body. Within her teachings we learn about personal empowerment and how the mind sculpts our reality. She mentors us into new understanding, building proper boundaries, and peeling away old stories of inadequacy and trauma.  Like an ancient owl, she sees through the story and helps us see ourselves and the Light with new perspective.

As the guardian over the Solar Plexus Chakra, she asks, "Are you ready to active your FREE WILL? Or will you continue to be a slave to your story, stay the victim, and blame everyone else for your life?" She says, "Look at your automatic thoughts, your belief systems, your posture, your conditioning, and the repeated complaining in your head...Is it opening you up or shutting you down? Do you want to continue haunting your past? Or do you want to recycle the pain and step into enlightened living? 

It Starts Now! Now is the only power point in all of existence. In her mythology, she was called on by leaders and warriors to find solutions to impossible barriers, to move past emotional waves into higher mind solutions. Likewise, when we invoke Athena in our lives, she helps us take a bird’s eye view and crystalize our lives into right action for maximum happiness. 


Solar Plexus Chakra


The solar plexus is your own personal sunlight radiating your pure essence out into the world. This chakra deals with personal empowerment, self-esteem, boundaries, and radiates warrior energy of transformation. It plays an important role in digestion and supports the stomach, kidneys, liver, and pancreas. Just as the stomach transforms food into energy, this chakra burns up the old and creates space for the new.

As the last 'human' chakra of the series, the Solar Plexus is associated with the thinking, belief patterns, and our story. Typically, it is blocked by anger.

Known as the mental body in many traditions, this chakra is the interface between our mind and emotions. What we think electrically effects our brain - neurons that fire together, wire together. Electrical impulses in the brain create emotional hormones that interface with organs and systems. In time, this exchange becomes who we are...or who we think we are. For better or worse, the solar plexus is the engine of personal identity.

In this course, we will take a deep look at the story you tell yourself, your personality patterns, your shame body, and start to fire up a healthy worthiness based in Self-Loyalty rather than outer approval.

As we go through life, we all experience traumatic experiences, both subtle and acute.  Trauma is not only linked to acute events, like war, car accidents, or assault. Trauma is anything that is too much, too soon, too fast, or too long for our nervous system to handle without becoming overwhelmed.

As children, we encounter stressful or shocking experience all the time. At many points we have felt the jolt of the innate fight-fight response, felt our energy freeze, and then disconnected from ourselves as a defense strategy. In shamanism, this is called Soul Splitting.

If not healed and repaired, as adults we may drift through life without much purpose, feeling disconnected or numb, or cycling though the perfectionism trend of depression - hyper-vigilance- overwhelm - burnout...over and over. We live only in the head, because the body has become a hostile place.

In time, we learn to armor, or cope, by developing a 'character' which allows us to fit into society and survive in the world. However, underneath the cool, sculpted exterior, we feel empty. This is developmental trauma in a nutshell.
