The Bud is Perfect At Each Stage of Its Opening
Aphrodite: Goddess of Beauty
Aphrodite is the Goddess of Love and Beauty. With more titles than any other Goddess, she is known as The Great Receiver, The Rule Breaker, The Alpha Omega, The Golden One, The Alchemist, The Charmer, and the Free Woman. Central to her archetype is reclaiming pleasure, sensuality, and a true intimacy with life. She asks us to experience our body as a vehicle of sensual creativity and reclaim joyful ownership of the raw feminine prowess!
For the Greeks, she was considered the Divine Woman and the Great Muse of all humanity. Whether it was exquisite art, breathtaking architecture, sultry poetry, or passionate love, Aphrodite was the energy behind such inspirations. As the flower of the sacred feminine, she perfumes our lives with a playful exuberance and de-light!
As the Guardian over the Sacral Chakra, she rules the emotional body. She asks, "Can you be vulnerable? Can you receive - really receive? Is your sexual-self reserved or can you release and explode into orgiastic ecstasy? As the Sacred Prostitute, she laughs at shame and asks us taste the sweet nectar of this precious life.
The Sacral Chakra
The sacral chakra rules the emotional body and connects us to the colorful tides of human experiences. When open and full, this chakra processes the wide range of human emotions…leading us in a serene presence of joyful appreciation for all the succulence of life. This center is also called the Hara, or Source of life, the Gate of the Spirit. It is believed to be the center of the lifeforce, the point of life. When this chakra is blocked, we feel numb, joyless, and dullness in life. We have energetic Contraction, feel separate, rejected, undeserving and yet jealous of other’s abundance. We don’t take hold of life, we let life happen to us, become passive, complacent, indifferent, and create rules around pleasure. As Joseph Campbell says, “The world is neat and orderly, but not alive.”
In this course, you will die into the waters with Aphrodite and learn to surf the emotional tides with joy and precision.
Dionysus
More commonly known as Bacchus, the God of Parties and Drunkenness, Dionysus and Aphrodite are two sides of the same coin. As the God of the theater, wine, mystical devotion, psychedelics, and spiritual liberation, he shakes the bedrock of the rational mind. Like Aphrodite, he is pleasure centered, sensual, and wild. But Dionysus takes it a step further into pure ecstasy! While Aphrodite prefers the pleasures of the body, romance, and earthly intimacy; Dionysus escorts us into mystical union with the Divine. As the protectress of wildness, he removes prudence and helps us adopt reckless abandon. He is the vehicle of Satori, Enlightenment, and Spiritual Freedom.
When Dionysus moves through the psyche, we may ‘act out of character, appear ‘mad’ to the rational mind, and break out of limited human consciousness. In this myth we will also dive into Maenad consciousness and release the drama of co-dependence.
